Merry Christmas!

Can you believe it... only 2 months until Christmas!  I'm a not a huge Christmas decorator but I do like a few seasonal items around.  I prefer candles and needlework items...and candle holders.  For some reason no matter how many candles I have, I can not pass up a good smelling candle when I am out at the stores.  This year I purchased two silver candle holders to add to my ever growing collection---they are supposed to replicate mercury glass.  They are just beautiful and I plan to decorate them for Christmas.

My latest design, Merry Christmas was stitched on 32 count Lambswool Linen. There's still plenty of time to stitch it and display in your favorite decorative bowl.   Hope you enjoy! And Merry Christmas!

New Designs!

New Design Coming Soon!
"Do More of What Makes You Happy"  .... Stitching makes me Happy!  The flower on the right side of the pillow was purchased at Hobby Lobby.

"Believe In The Magic of Christmas" was released a few weeks ago.... I kept thinking about wreaths and candles when I was designing this one.  It kind of reminds me of when I was a kid...more of a simpler time back in the 70's!
I'm hoping to have at least one more Christmas design completed soon.  It's funny because I started it back in July and got sidetracked with Believe In the Magic of Christmas and Do More of What Makes You Happy....that happens to me alot!

Believe in the Magic of Christmas!

I hope you enjoy my latest designs!  Next time I'll give you a tour of my stitching room.  I'm always curious how others organize their supplies....got to straighten mine up a little before I give you a peek!
Happy Stitching!

Happy Labor Day!

Hi Friends,
I hope every had a restful long weekend!  I put the finishing touches on a new Christmas design this weekend.  I have been learning to finish some of my own designs..... and a long way from doing beautiful work like my friend Faye of the Carolina Stitcher.   It has been fun....although I am always afraid I am going to ruin my stitched piece.

My latest design, Spooky Halloween has done very well and I thank everyone who has ordered it and hope you enjoy stitching it.  A little out of my usual color palette but a quick little fun design.

Coming Soon... my new Christmas design, Believe In The Magic of Christmas!  If you liked last year's, Share the Joy of Christmas, it is a follow up to that design. Can't believe it is September...the summer flew by this year...I am looking forward to some cooler weather!

I will follow up with a photo soon!

Happy July 4th!

Sweet Land of Liberty!
Summer Roses

I know... I am terrible about keeping up with this blog!  I think about adding my latest designs but time somehow gets away from me!

Happy July 4th to everyone!  Stay safe and have the best celebrations with your families.  It's hot here in Texas... that is to be expected for July...but for some reason by the time July rolls around I am ready for cooler temps!  I can dream on because it doesn't cool down until October around here!  I'll design something that looks like autumn...maybe that will help me!

What have I been up to....well my other love is history and genealogy.  I have been working on my Family Tree over the last five or six years and I don't think you ever quit finding interesting stories!  I have discovered so much about my ancestors that I never would have known otherwise.  And on this July 4th, I am proud to say that a few my ancestors fought in the American Revolution.  There is so much information out there now, it is easier than ever to learn more about your family...and so much fun!

If you enjoy stitching my designs, here is an update since January....
Mary Pilgrim Pin Pillow and with matching candle.

As always, thank you to everyone for your kind words.  I have a few new designs in the works and will have them out for you to enjoy soon!

Have a great holiday!

Old & New from Abby Rose Designs

It's been awhile since I've posted and so much as happened. I have several new designs and a lovely spread in the new Primitive Punch and Needlework Magazine.
X-mas in my Heart....This was a kit available from Norden Crafts or your local Needlework Store.  I believe Norden still has a few if you are interested.

Next is what I call My Christmas Treasure Box....Faye Riggsbee finished this for me.  She does most of my finishing and can be found at the CarolinaStitcher.blogspot.com.  Her work is beautiful!
Love Peace Hope Tree

My latest which will be released in the next couple of weeks is "Share the Joy of Christmas"  This is an easy stitch...if you are looking for one more Christmas piece.  I made it into a small pillow but it could easily be made into a Christmas ornament for your tree. (finished by Faye)

My Soul Is Fed from the Primitive Punch and Needlework Magazine Issue 2

And finally....I am working on a new project for 2016 and will have more details in a few weeks.  Oh how I love antique samplers, which is where I get a lot of my inspiration when designing. Several years ago I purchased an antique sampler stitched by a young girl named Mary Pilgrim.  What tiny stitches Mary stitched.... I have been intrigued with this sampler ever since I purchased it.  I have begun the reproduction on it have also been inspired to do a few pieces using more modern colors with her motifs.  Here is a picture of Mary Pilgrim's sampler.
Did you notice that Mary has her own candle? I worked on this candle until it was perfected!
My next project will be the Mary Pilgrim Sampler Club!
There will be four (4) projects over the next year that will be mailed out to club members every 3 months.  The first installment will include the Mary Pilgrim battery operated candle and a lovely project for you to stitch keeping with the Mary Pilgrim theme.  There will be a limit to club membership...so keep watching this blog if you are interested.   I have some great projects coming!  Details on how to join will be available soon along with a list of projects to come!

Happy Stitching to Everyone!  I hope your Thanksgiving is a great one!
